Jimmy White and The Leroy Foundation

Jimmy White

has had a near 40 year career as a singer songwriter, and an over 50 year “career” as a pet owner. His music career began when MCA Music published the second song he ever wrote in 1977. Jimmy has released 5 albums throughout his career, including his 2011 release, “Two Cities”, a double album of 26 songs, that was called “The Best Album of 2011” by the Hard Rock Café. He has also had 6 songs in the Billboard AC Top 50 and 2 in the Billboard AC top 40.

Jimmy White is a 14 time award winner, including Best Male Artist at the 2012 New Music Awards and was named Best Male Artist a record 5 years in a row at the Independent Music Awards. His signature songs, “I Wish You Peace”, “Good Friends Are Hard To Find”, and “Angel Eyes (A Wedding Song)” are consistent favorites worldwide, with “I Wish You Peace” standing out as a perennial holiday favorite among video and radio programmers. His 2008 video for “I Wish You Peace” reached regular rotation on the Gospel Music Network and post retirement, his 2019 video for “Goddess”, a song Jimmy wrote for Two Cities in 2007, accumulated over a million views on Facebook, as did “Ghost Of A Chance” in 2021. Although Jimmy has been retired since 2017, he has come back one last time for this special tribute to his beloved friend Leroy, and for all the animals so desperately needing homes. Toward this end, he has started a non-profit called The Leroy Foundation, in honor of the relationship he had with Leroy and also to honor all the poor creatures still desperately needing help. The premise for the foundation, at least now in the beginning, is to raise money for specific animal shelters throughout the US. 100 % of proceeds will be donated to the shelters. Jimmy will cover all expenses. The first shelter will be the Ocean County Animal Shelter in Manahawkin, NJ, where Leroy was born. Shelters in Rockland Maine and Naples Florida, both places where Leroy and Jimmy lived, are also anticipated as beneficiaries. As The Leroy Foundation continues to grow, additional shelters throughout the US will be added.

As part of the effort to raise money for these animal shelters, we are offering a free download of Jimmy’s latest song, “A Leroy Morning”. “A Leroy Morning” will never be released commercially in any format. It will only be available here at The Leroy Foundation. It is Jimmy’s personal tribute to his beloved friend Leroy. Jimmy wrote “A Leroy Morning” in 2023 after the passing of Leroy and has worked on the master for the past year with his friend and co-producer Mike Rorick. It was recently completed and is available now. Jimmy’s first song about an animal he loved, “Good Friends Are Hard To Find”, was released as a video for the Bella Moss Foundation, which studied MRSA infections in animals. The video for Good Friends achieved over 3,000,000 views worldwide and remains one of Jimmy’s most beloved songs. That video can be found on the home page of this site. “Good Friends Are Hard To Find” may have been about Smoke, but it is dedicated to all of Jimmy’s beloved pets. And it is dedicated to all of yours. As is “A Leroy Morning”. Losing them is so so hard. But there are still so many more that need us. In honor of all of yours, and all of mine, please help all of these poor creatures today, in shelters, who need us now.
